Good day all! I'm new around here and upon seeing the requirements for account upgrades (I like that) I figure there's no better place for a first post!
I've just bought my first car last week, after quite a show it ended up I couldn't switch the ownership over right away; amongst other issues I ended up towing the car from where I bought it to a field at my brother's girlfriends house (just within the 300km tow limit)
Fast-forward a week and I've had the car appraised/insured and gotten a used vehicle pack to get some history on the car, and am picking up my plates later today.
So without further adieu:
My 1994 Civic LX Special Edition, 1.5 D15B7, 5-speed.
Car has 221xxx km on it, completely OEM stock (minus maintenance components of course) even came with a relatively new cat and exhaust:
I'm quite excited as I think this is a great starter car, I wanted an EG but still wanted something different; didn't want to have any mechanical work to do to make the car roadworthy and also something that'd insure okay. I think I hit the nail on the head here.
Car has no issues minus a small leak in the AC (I think, no freon) and typical Honda Cancer on the rear quarters, which I intend to get back down to good metal and seal with fiberglass until I'm all set to actually re-place them.
Either way, just thought I'd throw up an intro post to get that post count started, looks like a great repository of information around here; and worry not, I know how to use the forum search.
Couple more pics of car because I'm too proud:
Both my father and brother are honda guys (and my dad a former mechanic). Dad's got a 95' DX 3-door and my brother a 92' of the same type, in the process of switching to an EP3 SiR. We have a garage full of replacement parts and the knowledge to keep the car in good form.
I'm quite excited and think I got myself a pretty decent car here for what it is. Also have no intentions of really mucking it up. Got a spoon lip from my brother for the front and am in the market for a flush-mount wing for the back, and going to convert the front to an EG hatch bumper and hood (maybe) No intention of ruining that great economy I'll get out of the D15, saving up for a B18 much much down the road; I think it'll be a suitable engine for the body type.
Well guys, sorry if the post it excessively long as it took me only five or so minutes to whip up. Feel free to let me know what you think, and if anyone's got any pointers on how to go about fixing the rot and maybe helping the sunfaded panels, feel free to share!
