Hello everyone. i am looking at buying a 98 honda del sol, im not much of a honda guy, but i like del sol's. As far as i know they are a relatively desirable car. That being said, i have concerns. i checked the car out briefly one afternoon, he started it, its been sitting over a year, it started fine, but had what sounds like a lifter knock, not loud, just noticeable over the idle. is this common or is it an exhaust leak from somewhere near the manifold? i have an 02 hyundai accent and it always knocks cold at idle. so if it is a lifter knock im not sure if its consistent or just while the engine is cold? he said runs fine sitting but when you put it in gear and go it misses and dies. it also had over excessive play in the clutch, could that be the reason or are soft and wiggly clutches common in del sols? anyways, hes asking 1500, i believe its worth about 1200, fair price range?plz help!
