I've had my civic for three years now it has almost 200 k on it and was running perfectly fine up until 3 months ago. I just got in it one day and out of the blue it died on me and hasnt been the same since. When idling the rpms are extremelly low..almost down to the 0 mark, and it has half the power it had before. It shifts ok until it gets warmed up then it shifts like crap. It'll rev up to 3000 rpms before it'll shift then only drop down to the 2500 mark. Sometimes i have to let my foot off the gas and let the rpms drop before it will want to shift. Sometimes when i push the gas it will go right away and sometimes it will be so bogged down it wont go at all, almost like its still in second gear or something. My engine light is on and the code that comes up is the map sensor I've had a new one put on twice and it didin't change anything at all. I've taken it to 4 different shops and they all cant figure it out. They thought the catalytic converter was clogged so i got it completely cleaned out, that didn't change anything either. They checked the O2 sensor, the idle control, the trans, and the timing...it's not any of those either. So before I put anymore money into it I'm really hoping someone can give me some advice on what it could be. It was my first car and I really dont want to give up on it yet. Thankss

 

Have you checked your fuel system and your ignition timing?
