zc swap help!!!
OK...here is what I need to know. I have been finding it so hard to find accurate zc info on the internet. How the hell can you tell if a zc is the 130hp output engine. I just recently bought a zc from attarco, everything looks the same, it has the oil to water cooler, says zc on the block, but some small things are different. for example, my si throttle body, which is supposed to be compatible, isn't. Another thing is the distributor doesn't have an internal coil, and it seems that the engine mounts are in the right position, but are off by about a centimeter. They look like the b18c mounts. Anyone have any reliable information for me? The date stamp
says 1992. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: zc swap help!!! (shinobes)
sounds like you may have integra zc which is different from civic/crx zc - what color is valve cover - brown for integra - black for civic/crx - what car is it going into?

There was never an integra ZC. The only ZC made came out of the JDM 88-91 civic/crx Si. The brown cover motor is the d16a1 out of the early gen US integras. Europe has the d16a9 as well...which is basically a ZC but stamped d16a9.

my son owns zcspeed racing and this is the motor that we use for 1st gen crx swaps since they practically bolt in

2nd Gen DOHC ZC came out of the 92 civic 10th anniversary edition courtesy of Katman:
notice the grey plugs on the distributor:
Honda also came out with the dohc zc and the sohc non vtec zc aka d16a6 in the US (i believe 88-91) and the sohc vtec zc (basically the d16z6 with "zc" stamped on the block in 92-)
