when swapping motors the new one must be of the same year or newer than the car.

Of course it's possible... Get all the OBD1 goodies to go with it. Do you really expect someone to tell you it's impossible?! You want to swap a D-series engine into a chassis (I'm not talking about trim model) that was made for a D-series. You're not trying fabricate a Ferrari engine into that bitch.

You'll need a jumper harness but I don't think they make an OBD1-OBD2 jumper. I know they make an OBD2-OBD1.

You'll also need the engine harness from the donor engine.

its illegal, so its impossible to do legally, and i just dont feel like breaking the law and telling you how god awefully wrong most of the above statements are wrong. by the way, if you have to ask if its possible, i wouldnt recommend trying it.

Sorry, wrong answer.

If you want the correct answers, all you have to do is search.
Seach: obd2 converted obd1, or something like that.

Its easy and its been covered a million times.

A kit car and a mass production car are a little different.

And why wouldn't you need the OBD1 harness from the OBD1 motor?

Because an obd1 civic harness is COMPLETELY different than an obd2 civic harness and doesnt even come close to plugging into the car.
