Could you for example pull an AWD system from a Subaru and mod the hell out of the civic......well I believe that anything is possible but, what about the CRV AWD system??? Could that fit?

This question rears its head every few months and i've asked it myself in the past. Unfortunately the prevailing wisdom holds that the CRV drivetrain just isn't strong enough to hanlel anything more that the stock HP. A good look at the rear dif and driveshafts bears that out.

There IS a JDM only variation of the Civic platform called the Orthia which comes with AWD. and the B16 VTEC engine. I have never seen one though nor have i heard of anyone doing that swap. You would probably have to weld in the rear floorpan to make it work but any competent body shop could do this. I would love to get my hands on one to play around with. An AWD turbo hatch would really be a killer.

if you have 30k to blow on making it work. Might as well buy a s2k rather than thowing your money into some custom job
