OK well my buddy has a 97 Civic EX with a b16a2 swap. Normal driving around is done on a chipped Ecu. Problem is he needs a sticker. So after a bunch of problems and solutions there still is ONE more problem that we can't figure out.

He is using an OBD2a sohc Vtec ecu to get the sticker. All Check engine lights are dealt with except for the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Problem is we already did the CKF trick and the code is still there. The CKF trick is right as to what is shown in the FAQ of this forum.

So my question is what would be the reason that this code is still present??

why are you doing the ckf trick? thats for obd1 motors, hence why i asked what it came out of.

 

its my car...the motor came out of 2000si and is in my 97ex with the singlecam wire harness ...when i use an obd2a 96 civic ex computer i get the crank position sensor light...can i use a 0bd2a to 0bd2b jumper and a stock b16 ecu and pass for a sticker

it might, unless your civic doesn't have the fuel tank pressure sensor. remove the ckf trick, it does not apply to your particular setup.

 

if were talking about an inspection sticker u dont need the cel to be off to pass at least not in md u dont.

ok yea i was not sure that sucks tho. about the light if why are u not using the b16 ecu? as long as it does not throw a cel it would pass right? do they actually scan the car in ma?

 

yes they do scan the car...we got web cams and everything down here...no other idears anyone

 

you need it for emissions?
