ok, I put the jdm b18c1 in my coupe, and I am so not happy about it. I almost lost to a 1998 gs eclipse with an intake and an obx muffler...i mean, WTF! i feel like after 5k the motor is falling off...I'm running a stock p28 ecu with the motor b/c i was told it would run it better....my g-tech pro said I am running a 15.1 sec ET....is this right? help me out. i'll give more specs if needed. thanks.

the stock p28 might be your problem there.. try chipping it so its more compatible with DOHC VTEC motors. and the 15.1 et seems kinda low to me. good luck fixing the problem.

hows your ignition timing?

make sure to freshen everything you can as well (plugs,wires,capNrotor,etc)

and ya, re-chip your ECU as soon as you can......

hope everything turns out ok

well, i did chance the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, etc...that helped, but maybe I just had higher hopes...almost seems like my ex motor would have gave me a run, it almost seems pathetic. i'll try the ecu idea....

Well you are running fuel maps for a 1.6liter engine. You are definitly not getting the full potential from your swap.

I sure hope something is wrong because that means my B18A swap will probably loose to a non turbo DSM. I think I can beat them now with the D15.

You'll feel a huge difference with a chipped P28 (or even a stock P72) versus a non-chipped P28.

why the hell are you running a p28? i dont understand all these people who say "sure its ok to use a p30 with an LS motor or a p28 with a gsr"

GSR=P72

Agreed! Your motor is suffering from the 1.6 SOHC VTEC fuel and timing maps and the loss of midrange power from the secondaries not opening. Get a 94-95 OBD1 P72 ECU!!!
