What in the world do i do? b18c question
thursday afternoon around 2pmEastern, im going to look at 95b18c in harrisonburg VA. The guys says that it is out of his mom's friends gsr who wrecked it awihle ago. he claims it has only 50k miles on it..the vin# is still intact ect.. ect... so i plan to go there and take a look.... how in the world do i tell if it is a good motor or not... i mean what are the specifics i should be looking for.... ????? anyhow he's asking for 2600 cash, no ecu or driver's side engine mount... i plan on talking him down... what do you guys think??? Thanks for the help... just trying to be extra careful since this is basically all my money going into the motor... and some dude tried to sell me a stolen motor couple weeks ago so you never can be too careful...
thanks
thanks
If you even SUSPECT for one second its stolen DONT BUY IT! I would say screw this guy if he tried to sell you a stolen motor a few weeks back and alert the local po po to him or else your ride could be next. Hit up Hmotors online for a swap. I think they charge $3100 for a complete changeover. I say just save up the rest and go there. I know there are plenty of guys on this board that will vouch for him.
oh this is not the guy that tried to sell me the stolen motor.... but thanks for the advice...... if i find out it is stolen then i call po' po's and that is one less thief.... anyhow i am off wish me luck
well check the belts u prolly gonna replace em but just check then make sure its the right engine...and check the sensors all over the engine...look at the wear...shouldn't be much...i got a 94 long block gsr from hmotors for 1600 it was nice....only 1 broken sensor but i think that was my fault...and i got the auot version cams shoudl be the same just auto has a bit less hp not noticeable like 5hp at most....well thats bout all i got to say besides the engine is the cheap part of a swap unless u do all the work yurself
