What to do what to do
hey whats up just a few ?'s im personally knew to the honda scene myself and i recently bought a 93 civic 4 door reason for this is where im from most honda people drive 2 door or h/bs and they really dont think of a 4 door as what people would build up for racing but newho my problem is this i have $4000 and want to do a motor swap but to know what to go with b/c i dont know the different motor spec and i am also going to get some more money in the short run and buy a turbo kit for which ever swap i dicide to do can anyone help me out on this. i have rounded down the motor options to this b16a , b18c5, h22 from what i am told and from what i have read on the honda motors these are the three best engines to go with for a swap other than the k series to much money there for me but i would like to know of the 3 motors ive listed can anyone tell me whats the best motor turbo combo which could get me into the 12 13 second region cheaper ect please give me some ideas and thanks for reading my post
wow, theres seriously hundreds of threads on hear about these exact issues, thats pretty much all it is, please search so there not 10 of these threads on the first page
if you dont have time to research it, dont do it. i had no idea what i was getting into, i had the cash for two months, but read on here what i really wanted to do, where i wanted to go, and what i wanted as far as drivablity. i researched it to the point where i felt comfortable enough to do the whole swap myself, never messing with an engine before it. research is what will make your car the fastest
It all depends on what you want? most people do B16 swaps just cuz there almost indestructable and are cheap to replace if they go kaboom. your choice is basically prefrence. you a EJ1 or civic 4door. my best response it buy a GSR swap kit it doesnt take much to the swap its a little spendy but shouldnt reach out of you $4k budget it your just trying to do the swap. But it nevet hurts to replace some stuff on the motor. like CLUtch maybe replace the intake manifold with like a skunk2 so you do have to wire for the GSR butterflys. The advantage of have a GSR over a B16 is that the GSR is a b18c. meaning 1.8 liters which eqauls more torque right off the bat. i hope i helped
alright best thing to do, is get the h22 block, and put the d16 head on it... it won't cost to much.. just hard finding the block... your gonna need k20 motor mounts for this... wiring, I believe from a civic type arrr...., and also OBD3... and your set.. you will make 10's in the 1/4 mile..

just for money wise you could consider boosting a single came. lots of people up here in washington do it a make good power. with the right turbo kit and tunning i seen people make at least 300whp on a single stock. not mods other than the turbo kit. high flow injectors and fule pump
waaup buds... i would deff sugest engine swap... at least get an engine like mine (d16z6, aka 92 si). But like the "rules and guidlines" describe... this should be posted somewhere else. But again you should have no trouble gettng a decent swap for somewhere around 4k. But if i was ever gonna do a swap i personally would go h22 (prelude).
i just thought i should bring this thread back up because it is my first ever thread and i look back at it to see how stupid i actually was back then god lol this is funny thank god i actually took my time and reseached everything there is to know about hondas lol
