I just bought a 94 civic DX hatchback and the motor and tranny are stolen. The first question that popped into my head was who would steal a DX mtor and tranny then when I looked at it closer I noticed that it had the ecu stolen and the plugs are rewired and there are some wires wired rewired under the hood. My question is what do you guys think was in the car before? What swap would require rewiring like this? I dont know who the previous woner was. the car is blue and came out of nebraska. I am going to swap in a prelude mtor but I dont know what kind of wiring problem that the rewired ecu plugs will give me. I know that I didnt give much info but this is all that I have to work with and I am trying to narrow down what was in it. thanks for the help

 

Was it a DOHC? If not you probably had a D16Y7 with an aftermarket ECU or maybe a D16Y7 block with a D16Y8 head (VTEC). Don't know.....was it a DOHC or a SOHC?

 

GSR engine in a DX would need a lil rewiring.

 

I have no idea what was in the car before. below the drivers side mount it lools like someone did a little hamering for clearence. thanks for the help.

 

The only motor that should need any hammering for clearance would be a prelude, unless they didn't know what they were doing.
