Default V-6 Civic

Anyone ever tried to build a V-6 powered Civic? I realize the cost to power to weight ratio is not good but...

Back in the 80s or early 90s, a company built a Ford Fiesta with a Taurus HO v6 in the back of the front seats. The cost was the ford fiesta plus the taurus they would kill for parts and their labor.
It was featured in one of the magazines. (Prolly car and driver or Road and track).

Back then I thought it was cool. But 200HP for a 4cyl is becoming comon now. Putting a v6 in a small car does not have much advantage anymore.

But it would still be interestesting an fun to look at.

Yup, with enough skrilla, you can have a 2(h22) engines combined 4.0L in a civic. Now, practicality, that's a separate issue.

With 4 cylinders capable of putting out so much power now, the only reason anyone would put a V6 into a Civic is so they can say that they have a V6 in their Civic. Kind of like VW's W18. It's not really necessary other than to impress people who don't know any better.

In the import Word you must think that Nothing is impossible!! Really I trully believe that it's not a big deal to put A 6 cylinders in a Hatch but, If you can earn More Hp by HARDLY, modifing the stock v6, why not, ran this beast on Nitrous, with a Turbos, oversised piston, cam and all the usual **** shoud be Fast as hell,
Can be a good try but a damn long Weekend to work if everything go for best!!
Try it if you got MONEY and TIME, as we know time is money so!!
tell me more about the project!!

Word!

I remember that monster. The guy who built it lived in Long beach i think and i grew up in Palos Verdes, Just north of there. He used to terrorize the little rich kids all around Palos Verdes Drive. That thing was SICK.

Would i try to stuff a V6 into a civic? why bother. If its mad HP you want just get a turbo LS. or H23 in there. Thats more power than you will ever be able to use. Trust me.

P.S.

There was a Taurus SHO powered Lotus Esprit at VIR last weekend. Impressive to look at but he wasn't as fast as you might expect and he was running in the beginner group. Not that theres anything wrong with that. I was in the beginner group too. We all start somewhere.

I did pass him once though

those sho guns ran a 12.9 quarter 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, handled 1.04g on the skid pad.. for a while only the F40 was better.....

think 12.9 with the stock SHO motor...
i gave my friend a ride in my SHO and then showed him the massive intake manifold.. and then one of the first things he said was " put it in your CRX"
haha now that would be sweet 220hp 200ft lbs stock in a 1900 lbs CRX

if you want to see the SHO guns...

goto SHOTIMES.COM and goto modified SHO's and then scroll down

Here is what a RWD V-8 conversion looks like. This one has a 351w, auto and a narrowed 9 inch rear.

This Pro-Street Festiva has run a best quarter mile time of 12.8 @ 106 mph. Not very impressive from a V-8 if ask me.

specially looking like that and with a weight of like 1900 lbs... the V8 must be stock or something

thing looks like it should run 10s

but i think it looks tight as hell....... too bad it doesnt run as fast as it looks
