Type-R head Alpha numeric ID?
Does anyone here know what the four alpha numeric ID are on the front of a 98 type-r cylinder head. I know b16a's are PR3-1. B18c1 is p72-2. B18c5=? thanks everyone.

The head has the same stamps as a regular B16a since it's the same mold/ cast.
P30 PR-3
The only way to visually tell the difference is the green paint on the back of the head near the place the distributor bolts on.

mine is a 2001 and it has pr3-4. on the backside of the head where the distributor goes, there is a green strip. also, if you look in the head witha flash light at the valve springs, you will see yellow paint on the intake side and blue paint on the exhaust side. look into the intake ports and you will also see where honda has ported them. just a few to hints so you dont get ripped. also check the year on the front of the head.
