'tricking' the VTEC pressure switch to cure code 22?
can i simply ground the sensor input to indicate sufficent oil pressure - or will this trip a code too? ie it will always be closed.
or is it a normally closed switch? and goes open when oil pressure reaches a certain point?
this is on an OBD0 PR3 ecu. so i will ground pin B5 to A4.

ground the pressure switch to the thermostat valve like stock, and splice the blu/blk wire from the pressure switch to the vtec solenoid.
Or, in otherwords, splice D6 with A4.
Or, in otherwords, splice D6 with A4.
OBD0 PR3 ecu does not have a D6 as VTEC solenoid
OBD1's have it...
on the PR3 the VTP switch goes to B5 - so this should spice into the VTEC solenoid wire at A8?
so spice B5 with A8? too easy

hmm...duno if this would work for OBD-0 ecu's, but wouldn't hurt trying and letting us know if it worked for you or not.
And yes, you'd splice B5 to A8 and ground the VTPS ground wire to the body of the VT solenoid somewhere.

Katman is correct. You can just ground the black wire on the vtec pressure switch and tee the blue wire into the vtec solenoid. This is also the case when you run the JDM ITR with no vtec pressure switch and an OBD1 USDM ecu.

Yup, I'll second that. I installed an OBD2 B18C in my friend's 90 hatch using OBD0 electronics. The OBD2 ITR motor is pressure switchless so I did the pressure switch wiring bypass like I previously had done on a few OBD1 setups and it does also work with an OBD0 ECU (PR3 we used).

BTW - i didnt/havent tried this as the guy who i fitted the engine for blew a driveshaft and is of the road...
if i do this to my ecu is my vtec gonna be on all the time?? or is gonna be just like normal??? thanks alot cuz my friend is having the same problem. and were guessing its the pressure switch cuz all the wiring to the ecu is find and the sileniod clicks and stuff.. thanks!!!!!
