I just bought a tranny on-line. The bastard says that it is a 2000 Si w/ less than 50k for $800 shipped w/ linkage and all of the hydraulic stuff . New synchros, and Phantom Grip LSD . Well first off it's not LSD cause there is a bar where the axles go . All of the plates/ stickers have been removed so I can't tell what it actually is . Is there ANY way to tell what it is now?? I will probably have to get my money back through PayPal with extra so that it can be shipped back to him.

He just showed me a bunch of pictures of when he installed the LSD. But what I understand is that the LSD does not have a bar in there all these pics do.

the phantom grip lsd is going to still have the bar in it because its called a locked differential its just some bs thing that when u launch it spins them loosa and grabs whatever they grab in there you still have an open differential so its going to have the bar, and as far as if its an si, put it in and 1st gear at8k you should be about 40mph and 2nd is about60mph and 3rd is about 75 i beleive if my memory serves me correct. 800 shipped is still good for the si tranny with all the hydraulic stuff, but if all the plates are gone then its probably hot, if the vin plate is on the go to honda and ask them to run the vin and see what kind of car it is
