Testpipe and 02 Sensor

Testpipe and 02 Sensor
I have an OBD1 setup...if I run a testpipe can I just get an 02 bung welded on it and stick the 02 sensor in there...would I still set off an 02 Sensor CEL? this may sound dumb but help me out
