Default testing your decibel levels

Does anyone know how to measure a muffler's decibel level?
The measurement tool and how many feet away from the car?
Does anyone know where I can get it done in central FL if I can't do it myself?

Radio shack sells Decibel meters... pretty crummy ones though, they only go up to like 128 dB... but thats good for you still... so check it out.

If you need help with the laws and local statutes, my uncle is a police captain of my town so I can ask him.
