i just swap a high compression b18c1 in to my 96 hatch and tried to turn it on and it did but,its backfiring realy bad and i thought that it was the distributor and i went and change it and nothing happen.now i dont have any idea what it is.

 

well i would sure as hell check your timing, move your crank to top dead center, and check and make sure your cams are also at tdc......
