Sputter after heavy part throttle
I have been driving my car like this for a while and it does ok for the most part because I've learned to live with it.
So while cruising if I ever need to put my foot into the gas enough to merge the car will get a bogged down feeling and wont' downshift easily. After this occurs the car will cruise at highway speeds and sputter. The only way to stop this is to cut the engine and restart it. Sometimes I get an OBD1 O2 sensor code but I have swapped O2 sensors before and this did not fix it.
Could this be my TPS or fuel pressure regulator? The car does have an odd idle where it feels like it has a drop in idle after about 5 seconds but the engine doesn't die.
