spoon b18c5
Hey all......Just curious if anyone around here has ever purchased a spoon b18c5, and if so, was it worth it to you?
Have a 93 Si, and am still debating whether to go the b or the k route. The car itself is in great shape, and still stock minus some springs that the previous owner had on there. I have "much" desire to start making this car that I actually want it. Wife is telling me I just have to put the deposit down on the house first...HAH I said what???me trading in my wrx for your pilot wasn't good enough? hehehehe
Anywho, thinking of trying to stay n/a as long as possible me thinks, but at the same time I want to build something up that will be able to f with all my buddies subyz

Re: spoon b18c5 (puffallattastuff)
umm.....ok, does anyone even know anyone that may have purchsed one?? Yes it's a little pricey, especially since you can get the whole swap somewhere else for less the just the motor will cost thru spoon, but I'm still very curious. I'm just looking for some feedback and opinions maybe?

I am not a jdm fanatic so dont quote me but far as the spoon CTR and ITR longblocks go they are pretty much a joke. As far as I know the only difference from a jdm ITR or CTR and spoon ITR CTR is that spoon builds them and balances and blue prints them. One of the few things they might do is throw on a spoon headgasket and a few other pieces but to the best of my knowledge it is not worth the money at all unless you have the big bucks and are show car of nottin but spoon.

I heard the same thing about the spoon motors, just what I've heard. I would go with the K swap, thats the future! Good luck with your decision, keep us posted!

Re: spoon b18c5 (blackb18c1eg)
yeah i can't stop reading/drooling over that darn k swap..hehehe...i hear some nice stories about people only paying like 3.5k-4k for the whole swap, but then i look and i see some prices a lot higher then that. I definitely have every intention of keeping everything(a/c, p/s) stuff like that. This is my daily driver, and will be for some time. Ofcourse, I'd like to hit anywhere from mid11's to mid12's after final tuning and all, but If it's still a little hard to hit there I guess we can't have everything that we want..
thanks for the feedback so far!! will be purchasing full suspension shortly for it...decided to start from the ground up, and right before the engine swap, i'll paint it. Also, kinda as a side topic(sry)do all seats from civics/intergra's mate up to my seat rails?
