Default speedometer problem need help

ok i have a 91 integra gs with a b16 engine. my speedometer doesn't work when it movies it jumps all over like the spring isn't wotking. my speedo isn't electric its cable driven. ive changed the speedometer 3 times. (3 different ones.) ive also changed the sending unit on the tranny. are the speedometers all bad? when the speedometers are out of the car and u spin the reciver on the back of the speedometer the all jump around. so im assuming the speedomerters are bad.

any help would be apriciated. 2 of the speedometers are from a junk yard.

before i removed the origanal speedometer it would work part of the time but it would be at the corect speed. after o removedit it wold jump all over.

i prolly broke it on removal.

thanks for the help
