my brother installed a sohc knock sensor on an ls/vtec , but , he's still getting code 23 , i don't know if it's damaged or if he just simply can't use it ........?

Knock sensors are the same for both the Y8 and other motors. If you are getting a CEL then it's either the sensor itself or the wiring. Since he has an LSVTEC, where did he choose install the sensor? That could be the issue too.
