Default smog legality

Would I be able to swap a jdm 94 gsr motor(all stock) into a 94 civic ex and be able to BAR it? It would have a new cat, and all wires and vacuum lines would be hooked up. I need to know soon because I am going to buy a motor this weekend...

Yes, as long as you use all smog equipment from a 94 US gsr engine, if they differ any from the jdm 94 gsr.

So the ecu needs to be from a us model? What about the comp. difference between us and jdm motors, would that change anything when it comes to the sniffer test?

yeah, ecu needs to come from a us model. not sure how the different comp. impacts the sniffer, but i just BAR'd my jdm h22 and there are plenty of people with b-series swaps BARd, so it can't make a huge difference
