eK HESITATES BOGS , THEN DRIVES NORMAL. HG LEAKING AGAIN
Ok Guys i have 96 ek hatch with 97 gsr swap. bone stock with short ram intake dyno tuned with obd 1 p72 gsr ecu chipped with crome pro. Im driving today at night and i just replaced my headgasket, all seals on head one month ago by a shop. I m driving on freeway normally and im going steady speed at 4th gear around 3k and i decide to downshift to third to gun it and hit vtec at 5k and all of sudden cel pops on my car bogs bogs when i hit the gas. ******* weird. So i shut the engine off and start it back up and cel gone and drives normal again. Until later on i do the same thing and gun it past 4k not even hitting 6k car lost power or shut offs. I checked my motor and headgasket is leaking again, and the back of the head leaking oil down to the block. Damn what could be wrong??? Im bringing it back to shop tomorrow, maybe bad seals??? Oh I had the shop reuse head studs and i didnt get it the head port and polish, which he recommend. I check oil level on dipstick, it looks fine, but maybe im blind because its dark outside. Sorry guys, im just depressed, it happen out of nowhere. Now it drives normal, no cel. Should i get arp head studs and bring the head to machine shop tomorrow when the shop redoes all the seals including head gaskets no charge??
Will i notice power difference with bringing the head to machine shop?? to port n polish?? I can see oil coming from the hole on the head behind?? Next to timing belt cover the hole below the back of the head? Could it be bad seals??

Re: (PnoyEj6)
Dude I had the same problem, except when my motor would bog, coolant would back up into my reservoir and overfill it, leaving my radiator half full. Problem ended up being a spun bearing, and hairline crack on oil cooler. Not sure why coolant was backing up into the reservoir, but my guess is the crack in the oil cooler. I would suggest draining/checking oil for metal shavings (best to have magnetic drain plug).

THE mechanic told me its my ignitor?? Does that sound right??? We test drove together and it only happens when i hit 4 up to vtec and slow down car shuts off and when i start again it wont budge, i have to turn key off an dturn key on, car turns on but dies again, car turns on dies again, after waiting a while for idle, car starts up and drives normal, and repeats itself after driving and hitting 4k and up only, it bogged last nite also and cel popped up. Is the ignitor right?
