Default simple question about ecu

is the 98 and 99 ls ecu the same??..will a 98 ecu fit into a 99 car??? thanx

Yes!
Both year (96+) ECU are OBD-II!

no they are not. 96-8 ecus are different from those found in 99-01 cars.

for one they are not interchangable without a harness converter, second 99-01 cars got imobilizers built into the ecu.
