i want a h22 knowing its problems in this series. but b18's can do as well. i dont have jack shyt for this swap either ! its a dx, which also is another problem. safe, legit, and reasonable is what im looking at for this swap. nothing more or less. money is not much of a problem. any ideas? thanks..

I was stationed in VA, Quantico back when imports and racing started taking form. Of the three crews/shops I knew very good and hung out with are Nu-Image, in Springfield...Norris. And Inline Pro...Stan also (I think) from Springfield. Both have strong teams.

I just read that post and I'm more confused now

you want an H22 in a 4th gen with NO problems ?

are you crazy ? maybe I cant understand cause I dont drag but if this is what you want I guess you should start asking some shops around you , but there has to be some fabrication involved

I definitely wouldn't mind an h22 in a 4g civic but only if it was a track car. You're gonna have to get some top notch suspension if you want to turn in that car. Also, they will probably have to cut and weld into frame just to make it fit. My friend has ran his car but I forgot the time, it wasn't too great, he still had the stock I/H/E. When did you call CDE, my friend just got his car back about 2 months ago.

how much did CDE charge your friend - they quoted me $1700 to put a plug/play GSR swap into my 94 VX...

They charged him $1500 for the swap. He also bought a C&R radiator for them and Mike welded the exhaust. The reason the swap was so hard is because his civic was a DX. If he had an SI, the swap would be so much easier. They quoted you $1700 for a plug and play swap like that. I paid Norris at Nu-Image $1500 for a gsr in my 93 CX, tanabe RM cat-back & chipped P28. He still stole emissions components from my car and told me the P28 was a stock P72. I wouldn't go there, too shady. CDE does good work but you have to pay for quality.

yah - but $1700 or $1500 IMO for a 5th gen swap is too much, couple of friends and I are gonna do it hopefully. Also another option is to buy a motor and sent it to B-Troop Chris, he does swaps for $500 or more, varies on situation. But i think he only works on EG/EK. I would have done this had i Known, but now i have a good excuse to put the motor in

I spent $1500 for a swap, a brand new tanabe racing medallion and a skunk2 chipped p28, not a bad deal I thought.

Cough Cough Gasp!!!

$1,700!!!!!! I'll do it for less than half that! It'll pay for that Hondata i've been meaning to get.

I like CDE but it just kills me how these shops take advantage of people.

Let me know if you're interested, i just bought an engine hoist so i have everything i need (i could use a larger compressor though)

Mike
