Running with out a knock sensor, hitVTEC?

Default Running with out a knock sensor, hitVTEC?

if im running a obd-2 vtec ecu taht reads a knock sensor, will i have to install a knock sensor in order to hit vtec? or will it just throw the code and still hit it

The vtec will still engage ,however the timing may be retarded a degree or two

Without a knock sensor, your car will go into "limp mode." Install the knock sensor and you'll notice a big difference. Been there, done that.

VTEC will still work with the KS not working or disconnected.

I would recommend replacing the KS or getting a chip, however.

can't you just hook up a knock sensor, zip tie it to a bracketand ground it to the fire wall?
