Question: ECU's
I have a 2000 B18C5 that I'm planning to swap into my 1997 CX hatch and this is my first time tuning or any automotive work. So please bare with me;
My question is, can I use the same ecu from my hatch with this swap or do I need to upgrade or swap the ecu?? I've read some threads and some people said to swap to p28, etc. and some said its okay to use the same....this is where I'm confused.
Also I'm planning on boosting the engine in a year or two (after I learn more about it), so can I just get the Hondata S300 even though its going to be stock for now??
What would you recommend me to do?

make sure its tuned well. high compression + boost = trouble if everything isn't tuned right. IMO GSR would have been a much better motor for FI. A chipped P28 or P72 would be your best bet to provide tuning options down the road.

p28 is a d16z6 ecu, p72 is a b18c1 ecu. The p72 can control your IAB's (secondary butterflies in the intake manifold) where the p28 doesn't. You can use an rpm activated switch with the p28 if you want, but if you don't hook up the IAB's, they will be open all the time. That will hurt low end torque some, but top end will be the same either way. A p72 will probably be a little more expensive though.
