PR3-3 ?????
ok guys, I've searched and i didn't come up with a definite answer to my question.
An old high school friend bought a ek ("type r swapped") hatch. So when I found this out I looked the car over. I noticed 2 VERY WRONG THINGS.
It has a b18c5 block BUT the head has PR3-3 stamped on it, NOT p73. My first thought were that this is a jdm or usdm B16 head. than i checked the ecu and its labeled P72!!!!!!
So my friend get ripped off (hes not too car smart please don't flame), its not a type r head, or ecu that's for damn sure.
OK OK QUESTION TIMEEEEE.... the code PR3-3 on the head stands for a b16 head right? Was this head off something else?
HELP PLEASE

I believe the R heads are stamped PR3, as they are the same cast as the B16a heads. you can tell if you remove the valve cover and see if the springs are dual on both sides, I also think they are certian color. I am sure there are more things to help you tell the difference, I just don't know what they are.
All Type-R heads (CTR/ ITR) have this green paint near the distributor. Other than that, there is no difference on the outside when compared to any other B16a head since they are the same PR3 cast.
Unless they have been cleaned. Ive had 2 itr heads. Neither of which had the green paint. Although i was told that and also subsaqentaly seen the paint on other type r heads.
