JdmSh!t.com makes an adapter plate to use with a civic sohc ac compressor, it's meant for h22 swap into civic and integras, it'l probly work for the h23, just ask em about it.

I had heard it would not physically fit into the car - is this true?

Look on their site http://www.jdmshit.com/hcp/index.html

i'm sure they wouldn't sell it if it didn't work and I'm sure numerous ppl who have used this would lie saying it worked when it didn't. Use the search button, too, u should find tons of info on this. If u try to use the h22 ac compressor it won't physically fit, that's why u need to buy the HCP bracket and get a sohc civic compressor than it will fit.

I think the ac bracket from them is eather $125 or $150, then theres the ac compressor. U may need to custom make some lines to fit right, but not too hard. After that it should be as normal as putting normal ac in, put all the stuff in, and get the ac charged. O and I think it says on JdmSh!t.com what belt to use, if not, measure it urself to insure it's the right size.
