Default OBD2 gsr in ej1

Ok so here is the hole story,

I had a 98 four door gsr, and i had a little accident
but now i have a clean ej shell, and i have swapped the OBD2 gsr in the car already, i used the OBD2 gsr engine wire harness and everything plugged in fine except one plug on the passenger side, it is a three wire plug. what do i need to wire this to? and what should i do about the ecu? i can get my hands on a OBD1 chipped P28 or should i get a jumper harness and use my old OBD2 gsr ecu?

I have tried to start the car with the p28 and it starts up just fine but it idles around 2000rmp and sometime pulses, i dont have the o2 sensor in yet and the knock sensor is unplugged. So im guessing it is the ecu?

Please help!

Plug should be for the evap purge solenoid, unless you have strict emissions requirements don't worry about it.

Did you bleed the coolant yet? P28 wont look for a knock sensor btw. If you still have the OEM GS-R manifold i'd try to get an OBD1 P72 so you can have functioning secondary butterflies, but a chipped P28 will work fine.

The remaining 3 pin plug houses the positive wire for evap plurge valve and both wires of the ckf sensor. You can omit the ckf wires but the evap wire needs to be reconnected. You need the correct map to run your engine with a p28 chipped or you can use a obd1 p72.

do not drive the car without the o2 sensor or the knock sensor. use the correct ecu for the engine. you have to use what ever ecu that best matches your engine. if your ecu calls for a knock sensor then make sure its wired up. the easiest thing to do at this point is to use the obd2 GSR ecu. i am not familiar with the schematics of the gsr harness. if you do not have a helms, chilton or haynes manual you can use the search tool on here and if that does not work google will do just as well. it shouldnt take you no longer than 20 minutes to find a wiring diagram for a obd2 gsr engine harness. does the three wire plug have large gauge wires going to it or are they sensor wires (roughly 18-20 gauge)?

ok... sounds like these guys are already on to it. my best advice to you is to label your sensors next time before you swap the engine that way you know where everything goes. also, buy a manual if you dont already have one. it will save you from headaches down the road

If you have a OBD2 harness, why would you need a jumper harness to run your OBD2 ECU?

Cabin harness is still OBD1 (has OBD1 ECU plugs)

'96 - '00 Civics do. '92 - '95 Civics and '94 - '01 Integras have a 2 piece harness that disconnects at the shock tower plugs though.

just wire up your knock sensor and be sure to connect your o2 sensor. also make sure that your tps and map sensor plugs are not switched.

i also have this exact same set up in my hatch and had no problems with the harness at start up

dont even attempt to run OBD2 unless you absolutely have to. It has no upside and only downsides.

I'm pretty sure all the OBD distributors are different.
