Default o2 sensor causing limp mode

Ok guys...my friend jsut did a swap from my 97hx and put a 99 si engine in it...we are using a 97 gsr ecu...he started the car BEFORE putting the o2 sensors in....I was told this would put it in "limp mode".....Now i was alo told i can only get this reset by a dealer or someone with a labtop program because it has to do with emissions...is this true?.....apparetly its not jsut normally resetting the ecu...thanx

I assumed you used the Hx harness....

You are going to need to do alot more work then just get the ECU programmed, or try to reset it.

You have to rewire the Primary O2 sensor completly.

That wasn't your O2 sensor then.

My best times with just a b16a2 swap in my hx being run with a GSR ecu was when my car had a CEL for both o2 sensors. I was also getting 29mpg with no o2 sensors.

O2 sensor codes will NOT put you into limp mode.

my o2 is just hanging down since i ordered a bunge for it cause theirs no spot in my headers or exhaust

could that be why my car is running slower than suppose to be

Even if you disconect the o2 sensor(s), It will not send a car into limp mode.
