Need recommendations on a muffler..
Already have a custom 2.5 exhaust but the temporary muffler I put on the pipping is now past its time to be replaced. I want to have something that has a nice, non-raspy sound but still delivers good power; if there is such a thing..
Thanks alot guys for your recommendations..

Haha, that's an oxymoron. A "muffler" definition is to quiet the exhaust sound. But then if you want the best flow possible, get the one with the least amount of restriction, thus it'll be loud and negating the term "muffler."
But here's some pics (hard to see with the flat black paint) of my old EG hatch with a 2.5" inlet/outlet muffler that I got from PepBoys for $20. At first I was sketchy about it and the sound but ironically it worked out really great. Very quiet and low, no raspy sounds (the resonator/glasspak also determines that), and it flowed well at high rpms.
BTW, at first I wanted the middle inlet/outlet but then after getting the offset look, it kind of grew on me since it looked a lot like a Greddy SP muffler with the tip cut off, for the most part, and I personally like that look.

Looks good.
Newman: Went to like 3 Autozone in my area and they do not stock mufflers like you mentioned.. Can you see if they still have some in your area and I would refund you the difference in time and shipping.. Thanks..

Wait till you see and here my exhaust. No cat, no muffler, just a straight pipe with a resonator. But If you want a quieter sound definately go with the Pep Boys muffler. I'll check around up here and see if I can find any at the local stores.
Btw, how much for that P28??

My friend is running Kteller8's piping with a moroso muffler and it sounds deep and has a bit of a rasp at like 3-4k, not bad thou. I forget what he paid for it, I will ask him.

Any "universal" muffler with 2.5" inlet & outlet should work. Again, something like that will not hinder that much performance, and if you are really looking for that stock/sleeper look and quiet sound, and still the good flow (2.5" inlet/outlet is still pretty big for a muffler), then any of those will do.... just paint it flat black to make it look more stock & sleeper

Thanks if you remember any part numbers it will help the cause..
743: There are two resonators on the piping now.. Its a dual canistor muffler so its like having two of them at once.. Not really loud but it resonates alot, especially after 4k..

Ok, here ya go. This first one is a Dynomax UltraFlow, part #17219. This one is the louder of the two since it flows straight through at 1283 cfm. It's $79.98:
This one is a Dynomax Super Turbo, part #17733. It flows 376 cfm and is $39.98:
Let me know if you want either!

If you're really concerned about being quiet, I'd go with the Turbo one. It's chambered where as the Ultraflow is a straight through design and is going to flow better. And the price is nice on the turbo one to.
