So you are positive you connected the engine ground strap? The wire on the coming from the engine to the chassis. I dont see how just pulling your plugs out would cause your car to stop running.
ur gettin no spark... how did u do ur compression test... did u hand turn ur crank... whatever check ur coil... and while ur at it make sure ur really not getting spark ... hold the spark plug wire to ur valve cover and see if u see any spark when ur cranking... does it even crank...

i turned it over by the key and i already held it up to the valve cover and no spark i even went out and bought a new cap and rotor and i cleaned all my gorunds and checked my fuses and still no spark i don't under stand it ran fine before the compression test and how do i check the coil and the crank position sensors?
You probably shorted your igniter, if you did not unplug the two pin plug from the distributor blk/yel & blu wires. next time use a remote starter or unplug the power supply to the distributor and fuel pump. or just unplug the ecu.
Yeah my guess is the ignitor as well. Make sure that the 4 connections are secure and if they are then take it out and have it tested or replaced..

I did a tranny in a 96 gsr last month, got done,... wont start. Check for spark... NONE, replaced the ignitor.... started right up. Bad news is that a new ignitor is $180 from Honda!
i found out it was my coil and also found out b and h series have the same coil my friend had a b16 dist. and the coils had the same part # so i switched them and it started right up
Any other h22 guys compression tested their motors? What were everyones results?
Is the compression tester at sears pretty accurate? You are supposed to only crank it 5 times right?
Mxpx do you have a jdm h22a? That's good you fixed the problem and your cars running again.

I did mine, but I thikn I cranked it too many times! I jsut kept cranking till the needle stopped jumping. The results were 260-262-260-265. Like I said, that was crank till the needle stopped.. so Prolly did it wrong, but dang those are some high numbers!
Mine results were about 265 across the board with 4-5 cranks. This was with the engine warm and the throttle fully open.
If i cranked the engine about 7-8 times the numbers went up to 275-280, but i know it says on c-speed to crank it only 4-5 times.
This was done with a compression tester bought at sears. I don't know how accurate it is. I just wanted to see other peoples compression test results to compare.
O BTW it is a 94 jdm h22a.

Well, I did another compression test and now my car won't start. I'm Jinxed I swear. I read this post and look what happened. J/K. Well the car seems like its going to turn over but it doesn't. I haven't checked for spark yet because Im doing a clutch i an eclipse right now. Just curious on what else it could be besides the ignitor if anything. I didn't unplug the PGMFI, so I originally thought it was just flooded, but it sat for quite a few hours now and still won't start. I've got a full GSR motor in my garage, so I could use the ignitor for now, but I was just wondering what else it could be. Thanks guys in advance for the help.
