My 1/4 Time
Ok I have a 1999 Civic EX Coupe wit Jpec GSR OBD1 motor
Mods are:
Civic EX AEM CAI
DC JDM ITR 2.5 Header
Carsound 2.5 cat
Apexi N1 CAT back
Tuned Vafc
(full interior)
By best 1/4 yesterday was 14.6 at 92 or 93 mph. 60' was 2.396.
I was basically shooting for 14.6--14.5 so I was very happy cause last season i couldnt break past 15.1 @ 94mph because of traction issues due to my old 17inch rims.
Now now im trying to see how low i can run with just bolt ons before i start building internally. 13.9 to 14.0 would be perfect for just bolt ons. My next mods are gonna be Skunk2 IM, Chipped P28, FPR and maybe a clutch and flywheel. ITR LSD is something else im considering

Re: My 1/4 Time (BLK99VTECR)
Daaaaamn, i was praying for those kind of times in my 1999 EX Couple w/ h22. I was shooting for 14.7, 14.8. I guess I should set my goals a little better.

Not that bad, but you can pull off a lower 2.3 or 2.2 easy.

Nice times y0.. Get rid of the 17's for 15's if you like function over form. I'm hoping to trap 104-106's here soon.. Probably be stuck in the 14's with my ghetto fab Kuhmos.

Re: My 1/4 Time (BLK99VTECR)
that is an excellent time for the setup that you have, in my opinion a set of street slicks (falken azenis)unless you are allready using them , would bring that 60' time down to around 2.1 and the BFG cheeter slicks usually around 2.0 60'. and remember every .10 you take off your 60' time is approx. 2 .10 off the elapsed time!!

Just responding to the wheel sizes. I ran 15.1 on 18s with 35 series tires. I now run dunlops on 15s, 50 series (Dunlop SP5000s, 205/50/15). Best time now is 13.77 at 102. Managed a number of <2.0 60s. Rubber makes the world of a difference. So does a little ZEX kit.

errr ok ? he's trying to bring his times down and I suggested that, better than your useless post. So what I put a lil humor in it? He did end up using a 15" wheel and it helped him out.

Re: (xmuska34)
yea i thought about taking the seats out but i thought that would be the cheating way out. Now that I know that it can run 14s as is, next time i go to the track to try to break into the 13s i will gut it for sure but just the seats.

Sorry, I over reacted a bit. But at the times he's looking at, I think he'd be better suited to perfect his skills as a driver rather than buying smaller rims, unless he's planning on getting a slick or something of that nature. I'm just so tired of 15" rims on hondas... ugh.

Re: (HOOKUPS)
yea I think imma buy some BF drag radials as my next mod instead of doing any work to the car its self. I do wanna get a 2.2 cause all the power means nothing if u cant drive it.

Re: (HOOKUPS)
EXTREMELY GOOD THOUGHT POWER TO THE GROUND IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR, YOU CAN HAVE 725HP ON A DYNO BUT IF YOU CANT GET IT TO THE GROUND YOU ARE GOING NO WHERE

Re: (HOOKUPS)
went to the track last night with the steelies rapped in Azenis. My girlfriend hoged the car all night and only let me get in 3 runs with my best of a 14.7@94 and she got like 4 runs with a best of 14.6@94. I got my 60' down to 2.2 with the Azenis im guessing but i really wanted to get some more runs in to see if i could have gotten into the lower 14s but somone wanted to be greedy. Oh well next week I will probally go to a better track so we will see what happens.
