he's joking on you..... you won't know till you get the motor

Could be craptastic and get like 15mpg, could be awesome and get 30+

sound deadener = weird tar crap in bottom most parts of interior to keep road noise down, it's fairly heavy and if you can deal with the noise it's a good way to trim weight

If you're willing to dish out 3-4k+ on a b16b, im pretty sure gas wouldn't be a problem.

why? i have one and im extremely happy with it, do you have any idea how much it would cost to convert a non type r motor to type r specs, and convert the tranny to type r specs? lets not forget about those dual synchros, do you understand what makes an R an R?

I do. but it's still not fast enough to be worth 4k stock.

my b16a2 with intake/exhaust with JDM B16 p28 chipped gets around 30 highway in a 96 Hatch.

i drive to Santa Barbara alot from Irvine, so i always gauge my gas and milage.

so i'd imagine a b16b would get a little less, maybe 25 in a Hatch.

Anybody know how to get your gas mileage in miles/gallon if you have a jdm cluster, my math isn't the best to figure out the formula.

ITRs get 22-34 MPG. I'd say that range is likely.

ehh your paying for potential though, comes with lsd and dual synchros in the tranny... dual valve springs and man have you heard/felt the vtec cross over on a b16b? but yeah i cant really argue with you since i bought mine for $2500 (engine tranny harness linkage) with no ecu or axles. 4k is alot but it is an extremely well built engine/tranny set up.
