Mini-Me Swap
OK...recently I did a d16a6 block with a d16y8 head and SI tranny. After the install on the test drive, the oil light came on. About 10-15 minutes later the motor completey shut off. I finally found out that the camgear and camshaft had seized up from getting too hot. This is caused by oil stravation right? But, the head is only getting oil on the right side of the head, NONE OR VERY LITTLE ON LEFT SIDE...any reasons why??? And how do i fix the oil pressure problem or did the light come on becuase not enough oil getting to the head?? ANY SUGGESTIONS OR ANSWERS will be greatly appreatied
did you remove the oil squirter for the head on the firewall side of the motor?(not on the side of the motor but on the top of the block closer to firewall) not enough oil will reach the vtec head if that squirter is left in as it will restrict flow. that's what I was told anyway.
