yep, did and it runs great love it, make sure you get a d16z6 head, intake mani, injectors, ecu, fuel pressure reg, and it will make a huge difference

The difference is like night and day... you will love it... but you will want more power after a day or two, you have been bitten by the speed bug... its an infection that never goes away!

honestly dude you would be better off getting the whole d16z6 engine. The mini me is probably not the most reliable setup. BTW what kind of power is to be found with the mini me head swap anyways?

I was told that the D16Y8 has a much better compbustion camber then the D16Z so if you can try and get the D16Y8 head I think they came in the 96+ Civic EX..The D16y8 I have came from a 99 Civic EX..

Hey man, I am doing the swap also. I was just wondering if you had to run a oil ling from the block to the head like on an ls vtec or are the oil ports the same on vtec and non-vtec.
If I have my head reserfaced, is a adj. timing gear absolutely necessary?
What is all is needed to complete this, timing belt, dist., head gasket, etc.....

Mini me swap you will need what you mentioned plus: the intake manifold (TB would help to), a way to activate the vtec (such as VAFC if you want to tune) or rpm switch, a vtec ECU for your car, may need feul rail & injetors depending on application, water pump (for Si/VX??) while you are replacing timing belt, head bolts or studs if u have $$, this is all I can picture sitting on my garage floor right now.... some applications recommend adj. timing gear, but not mine

Hey man, I did not understand about the oil line. Are you saying that a oil line is not necessary, because the oil port line up on the block and the head? Or, are you saying you have to take the oil ports out of the block and still run a oil line? Thanks for all the info.
If you do have to run a oil line, where does it go? Thanks again.

Re: mini me swap ? (gsrteg)
I read on a site that there is an oil port on the block of d15b7. but the vtec heads have their own oil port so you have to take the one out of the block when you do mini me swap or else your vtec wont work. There is nothing about running oil lines that i have heard. and I dont even know for sure where the oil port is or if that is even its technical name. but i'll be finding out in a few days. The site I read this on was installing Z6 head in a crx so civics might not even be the same, but i'm gonna look into it anyways.... but no oil lines need to be added to my knowledge.
