Default Mini Me questions... simple ....

Being that the Mini Me is the sohc version of an LSVT, does it give more Hp Tq than a straight Ex ? (I assume it would)

And is it because of a displacement difference or just to get vtec on a non vtec motor ?

Is the R/S ratio on the non vtec motor the same ?

what bottom end are you talking about specificially of putting the Z6 or the Y8 head on?

If you put it on a D15, the redline I believe jumps, I'm not to sure on mini-me frankensteins.

i think the pistons on the d15b7 (92-95 DX) will raise compression a little bit when doing the mini-me conversion. not by much, if any.

1) Depending on what your final CR is, you may or may not get more power. What I've heard is that it's about the same as a straight Z6 if done with the straight Z6 head, and a little more powerful with the Y8 yead.

2) There's no displacement difference. A6s, Z6s and Y8s all have the same displacement, 1.6L

3) Mini-me is only slapping a new head on the block - the R/S ratio is something which is stricly bottom end. In other words, R/S will not be affected.

Ok, lemme clear this up.

I thought the minime was a D15 block with a vtec head.

I know the D15 has a great R/S ratio and can rev to high heaven, but is that why it's used in a mini me, or do the pistons yield a higher CR with a Z6 head or (higher w/ Y8) ?

y8 flows better then the z6. the d15 is used because... its a mini me, u dont have the d16 block, so they used what they had.
