A little more than $175 buddy. First you need pistons, which are around $330 with rings. You probably want the .25mm over sized ones. So you need to bore the block, then have the pistons pressed on the rods which is usually $20-25 each piston. Plus shaving down the rod so the piston fits. Next you need to pull the motor to take it to get bored. Then you need a new headgasket, and all kinds of other little stuff.

If you are using stock bore, you can just lightly hone the block for the cross hatch, and save lots of labor. But its still expensive.

Haha $175. Yeah right. And then you have to pay for labor.

There are about 5 different places that always have CTR pistons in stock...ranging from $160 to $205....rings are $65 for OEM, or $110 for total seal...If you can't find them that cheap, try the search bar on your browser, or email me and I'll tell you all the places...

That's still not $175 regardless. I don't have a 5 ton press and the $700 tool to press wristpins into pistons either. Someone is asking for your help, don't bullshit them. GZR4DR, good response. All those little trips to the store add up too, you may also need an exhaust manifold gasket, extra hose for any old stuff that might get broken, feeler guages for valve adjustment... if you are going to take the block apart you are probably going to want to get a new timing belt as well... I would put away $400-$500 for the entire job to be safe, if you don't spend it all you can buy some extra tools

I totally agree. By the time you get the damn thing apart you'll decide to get a block gasket kit, maybe a head gasket kit $300 right there, replace your bottom end bearings, another $180 (why wouldn't you if you were down there?) and machine work is expensive because it's labor and it adds up! Don't forget the little things like the engine stand, engine stand bolts, any tools like 92Si mentioned feeler guages are a must, torque wrench, Helms manual is a MUST MUST MUST which is $60 right there. Hehe $175 my ***.. I would almost be willing to bet by the time you're all said and done you drop one Large note ($1k). Im building a motor right now and lets just say it's cost me DOUBLE what i originally planned and I even had a spreadsheet of every part I could think of HAH it always takes 3x as long to do it too! you'll either have to wait for parts, the machine shop, or other people to help. Haste makes waste too!! Its so much easier to take your time and not F@$k it up, if you don't you'll regret it forever. Oh also... stick with OEM rings, total seal are crap.
