i just rebuilt my block and theres a problem, well there was a lot of problem but i cut it down to just a few. well this is what happen, when the car starts it idles fine at 800 to 900 rpm. but what i dont understand is that when i shut it down and open the valve cover how come it start to smoke up. it doesnt smoke a lot but just a little. i try taking the car out for a drive to see how it performs but it laggs and wont go anywhere. i gives me a code of 22 (which is the oil pressure sensor) i check that it was cool. what whould you guys perferr me doing??? im confuse and i invest a lot of money into this block. please help???

 

are you even getting oil pressure? you have a friend with a honda? They share the same oil pressure sender...try their's

 

Not sure which ecu you are running but codes 21 and 22 are usually related to the VTEC solenoid and the VTEC oil pressure sensor. Can't remember which is which right now. Are you sure the wiring is correct and that the sensor is good?

 

well before i was using a pr3 ecu but now im using a 90 ls. now its giving me a code 32 or 33 which i dont know what it is. but the car does not have a oil light on.

 

that might be vtec solenoid....or vtec oil pressure

 

check you vechical speed sensor. Your spedometer cable. Clean your selinoid screen. thas what i bet it is.

 

22 is the vtec oil pressure code, check your vtec oil pressure sensor.. the car will lag if the engine is to cold or the vtec oil pressure is to low.

 

a little smoke is normal.

 

cool i thought smoke will cause a problem. but if the pressure is low how will i go upon increasing the pressure. i check everything and it seems like everything is installed and working find.
