Default Ls/Vtec question??!!

i just bought a 92 Ls bottom with Gsr crank and rods and CTR pistons all new bearings and tapped for Vtec oil line already...i bought it from QuickCrx38...the thing is...

i was told that since it has Gsr crank and rods its not Ls/Vtec anymore and its just a Gsr bottom with CTR pistons...is this true?

also...am i gonna make more power with the Gsr crank or an Ls crank with matching rods for both?? i have access to an Ls crank if i need it(buddy is selling one)...i was also told that Ls rods will not fit CTR pistons...

someone help me...whats the best way to go....thanks alot!!!

remember i'll be running a 50shot to this motor also with ITR head and manifold and CTR cams....thanks alot guys!!!

LS rods will fit CTR pistons. They just need to be machined.

Yes it is just a gsr bottom end, the thing is you might have to high or to low of compression ( i am not sure) . You will make more power with with a ls crank and rods. Sorry I can not help more

if you use a gsr crank then it wouldnt be a ls/vtec anymore. You have to use ls crank and rods mang.. ARP bolts and bore the rods 1mm to fit the wrist pins of PCT's.

BTW. I wouldnt use ANY shot on this motor! The compression should be 12:3-12:5
and unless you tune out the fuel curve.. its going to go BOOM!!!!!

This might answer your milling q's.

As far as helping you with the numbers...do you mean compression ratio? If so, then try here.
