Default LS vs. Turbo

I just got a 00 teg LS a couple of weeks ago and was wondering what would be better to do with it. A B16 head w/ B20 block or just getting a bolt on turbo?
I know that LS is better for turbo because of the long gears but its also costly!

First off, the long gears hurt acceleration, not the other way around. I should know... the LS 3rd gear is way too long and compared to those of the GSR or type-R persuasion. That said, it's a fine motor for boost. Don't mess around putting in some frankenstein creation when the LS motor you already have is a great starting point. Just read up on h-t on what you need to do and what your options are.

you'd have to lay down some cash on a decent NA set up. the ls is a good building platform for boost due to the low compression and the exceptional torque. I have seen people run drag kits on ls's with no problems.

Damn, you really need to search. You are obviously at the beginning of your tuning career, so take it easy, take it to a shop. Install a kit, have it tuned. Prepare for next project.
