Default low rpm studder?

Okay I'm not sure if this is the forum to put it in but what the hell.
I have a 92 civic HB, I dropped a lsvtec into it and its been in there for about 2 years now, but as of just a month ago I am having a HUGE problem with a studder between 1k-4k rpm's, there is no pinging or anything, still idle smooth and only does it on occasion not every time. There is no major work done to it(head:type-r cams,pnp,shaved....block:stock tranny:GSR w/ drag clutch). At first I thought it maybe in need of plugs and wires, did that no affect. Then I thought maybe the fuel filter, still nothing. I have ask mechanics and all at a loss, wondering if anyone out there can help me out. If I haven't supplied enough info just ask and I will response asap.

thanks

That is similar to what mine is doing. In neutral, if I give it a little gas it hits like a rev limiter around 2k RPM. It just bounces back and forth. Give it a little more gas and it is fine. If it's is gear, it won't do this. WTF???

could getting it tuned fix this problem? I have yet to tune it but if this will could be the problem I would be more than willing to do it.

I also have no cat, I custom made my exhaust so I just never created a place to mount the cat.

anyone else?

okay well checked the timing today and all is well there.

SOOOOO anyone know what it could be? I have shops telling me i need to install a controller(considering a hondata), and then I would do a dyno day, but I want to exhaust all other options before doing that.

thanks

have you checked all your vacuum lines? they can make a car do some crazy things, especially at lower engine speeds.

hey never thought of that, will do, don't think it would be since listening to the car you don't that normal hiss from when you miss a vaccuum line, but a possiblilty. Also unless one brock this wouldn't be the problem. I really think its fuel, just seems to act like it is either getting far to much gas or not a enough

anyone think that it could be a clogged injector?

thanks

okay will do, I think it maybe the o2 sensor so I order a new one, it was due anyways. So we will see if that fixs the problem.

thanks
