Default long time no start procedure ?

maybe a silly question but I haven't seen it come up, I took my sweet time doing my swap and my engine hasn't started since may of this year and who knows how long before that...do you guys normally just fire the car up when you're done or is it safer to somehow prime the engines oiling system first ?

this is the PROPER way to prime the oiling system. go to home depot/lowes and get one of those hand pump bug sprayers. put 2 or 3 quarts of your oil of choice in there. go to ace/autozone/checker/whatever and get a fitting that fits into the block where your oil sending unit is. attach bug sprayer to fitting, start pumping. you will eventually purge all the air from the oil galleys i reccomend getting an oil pressure gauge and watching it too. you may not be able to read any pressure but rest assured if you pump those 3 quarts into the engine with a hand pump everything has enough oil for startup.
