I was researching some info on wiring up a knock sensor, and found a thread that said that b18b1 blocks do not come with knock sensors, which can't be true, because I'm pretty sure mine has one, I haven't put in the motor yet, but there's two little wires coming from behind the crank pulley with a red/blue wire and some other colored wire. that's the knock sensor right? This guy was swearing up and down saying that all B18b1 blocks don't come with a knock sensor, guess he doesn't ****.

Anyway speaking of knock sensors, I know the red/blue wire goes to the d3 pin on the ecu, but where does the second wire go? nowhere?

 

that's not a knock sensor. knock sensors are 1 wire. it's not close to the crank pulley either. it's up at the top of the block on the backside (above the oil filter). i don't know if b18b's have them or not.

 

boy did I really put my foot in my mouth, I just checked the wiring diagram. The GSR has the knock sensor ( it said it in fine print ) not the LS.
