IMO I would build a k24a2 turbo (sleeved forged internals IPS turbo cams) for much less & you'd make much more power & be just as reliable

how the hell would you fit that motor in anything with the huge top mount intercooler

the motor is out of acura RDX which has a completely different drivetrain SHAWD... I dunno about the tranny - b/c the suv is so new

but the k23 has 260 lb/ft of torque which is way greater than the k24 and with the top mount intercooler all yoou would have to do is run a front moount

the reason it has so much torque is because it is already turbo from the factory...make the motor NA and then see what happens...

Acura TL is a v6 and completely different block so I don't think the TL tranny will work, not sure though.

Just get a k24 and boost it. Much easier and is a bit easier to find help.

the k23 ia not yet ont he market. it was just recently announced, and it even says on the Acura website available later this summer as a 2007 model.

And its not going to be an easy swap at all with the electronically controlled turbo....oh yeah and it uses an AWD tranny as well. so the fwd trannies may not even work.

Sure. Do you know what you're saying? "Let's take a RWD mid-engine V6 and put it in a Civic".

Do you know what you're saying? That "RWD mid-engine V6" is for all intents and purposes a front-wheel drive engine and transmission mounted somewhere other than the engine bay. There would be, in fact, no reason aside from physical volume that you couldn't mount the engine and tranny in the front of a Civic if you had the ability to make mounts and frame rails for it. A lever-kit to switch the "point of attack" for the transmission and you'd be golden, assuming you could get the axles aligned properly and the ECU to function like it should.

He probably was joking and forgot to add the

You bring up a good point, Archidictus. I was looking at it form a strictly volumetric point of view. I'm pretty sure it's at least been attempted.

yeah try ebay. you can probably get it on there for cheap...like $2500 or something. my neighbor just got an rdx and swapped out the motor for a gsr engine and he sold his old k23 on ebay. his rdx is hella fast man. its all race and doesnt even use gas. its powered by NOS

Good luck finding one, if the car isn't even out yet what are you going to do? Wait until it is released and then wait until you can find one that has been totalled but the engine is still OK? Plus, as someone sarcastically alluded to earlier in this thread, it's not like people will be swapping out those engines, it's an SUV.

k20a head flows better than k24 head. This is where you need to go: http://k20a.org

**** it would be a sick *** swap though. 240hp w/ 260 lb/ft of torque and comes stock with a turbo! how can you not think of this swap? now just imagine how many of them v8 homos you would smash on if this motor is swaped into an eg hatch. a killer swap
