K20 civic?
I'm getting a civic and I'v been looking at engine swaps lately. I like the K20 swap but I have some questions. Will the K20 fit all years and models of civics or just certian ones? Whats an estimate for the cost of the engine and everything to drop it in? I drive race cars and have alot of mechanic friends that can help me put it all together, so I dont need the cost of having it put in added onto that. Is this even a good choice for a swap or should I be taking a totally diffrent approach with this? Sorry for the questions, im just trying to learn some stuff about all of this. Thanks in ahead
Yea, Iv already used the search button and I cant make heads or tails of most of this stuff. Simply put, I'm a noob and just wanted some straightfoward answers to my questions.
Car range - most any Civic post-1991 will require only slight modification to make a K20 fit in the engine bay and run properly. There's a huge variance on parts needed for each swap, so I'd definitely recommend doing some more detailed, proper research.
Price Range - You're looking at around $5,000 if you do a K20a3 5spd, and ALL of the labor is done in house, with no part problems. More realistically, you're looking at close to $7,000 for an average swap, and $9,000 for a nicer swap.
