Default Are the ITR and GSR piston shape and volume the same?

Am about to rebuild block, (Stock GSR)
The ITR has the teflon coating which makes it more slippery but want to make sure I wont have clearance issues with the valves.

Since we at the piston topic, will a CTR piston have clearance problems having a slightly bigger dome?

Thanks.

The itr pistons have a slight dome. The gsr pistons look almost flat top with valve releifs. Here is something funny. I went to honda when I was building my lsvtec to order pistons. I ordred ITR pistons, and recieved GSR pistons. Of course I returned them and finally got the ITR pistons as well as some extra cash. Yep...ITR pistons are cheaper then gsr pistons.

And you can run CTR pistons no problem if you want.

Thanks for the info.

Does the ITR and CTR pistons have valve releifs as well?
Since you mentioned that I can use them, I assume you mean I wont have piston to cylinder head clearance problems.

My follow question is:
Since there is a dome on the piston, either ITR or CTR ( I assume the CTR has bigger dome) will this be a problem for aftermarket camashafts where they have long duration and opens the valves deeper?

Any info would be very much apreciated.

Thanks.

The ctr pistons will be fine with aftermarket cams, but your compression will be pretty high. Above 12:1 compression.
Here is a pic of a gsr pistons vs. the ctr and itr pistons.
gsr

usdm itr

jdm itr

ctr
