Default Info on h22a in a Teg

I've already searched, but have not found everything I need to know about the swap. Right now, I plan to put a h22a into my integra.
Things I need to know:
1) Is it worth it?
2) How much does it cost?
3) How is the handling of the car after the swap and how do I counter it?
4) I've heard that a/c is possible but, is there any possible way to keep power steering?
5) And for those who have the swap, how do you like the low-end

Any other helpful info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I haven't done the swap YET but it's in the works, i'm doing it for sure! there's nothing holding me back (exempt money! haha). I've been doing a gang load of reseach for like the past 6 month, i know pretty much all there is to know. email me if you have more question or anything. Be happy to help and share info's since i haven't exactly done the swap yet. Here's my best answers:

1) Is it worth it?
YES!
2) How much does it cost?
about $2500 for the motor, tranny, and edu, plus you'll also need the mounts ($400-$600) and the axles.
3) How is the handling of the car after the swap and how do I counter it?
It should be about the same except for the ps crap. weight isn't all that much different and u can always get a carbon fiber hood and relocate the battery and also remember you wont have ac and ps so thas also less wieght there.
4) I've heard that a/c is possible but, is there any possible way to keep power steering?
I'm sure it's possible, u jus need to fabricate custom mounts, but honestly, if your getting a h22 in the first place, u probably won't need ps cuz it actually loses hp w/ it.
5) And for those who have the swap, how do you like the low-end
i don't have it yet but it sure does take off in my dreams, hahaha

carbon fiber hood is not going to take care of the problem dawg. you gotta think about the center of gravity as well. you will have some understeer, but nothing you should be worried about if you're not auto Xing or road racing.
low end is much improved (torque numbers speak for themselves - 158 vs 127),
and the difference will be noticable. you'll love it.
you're lookin at mid 14's 1/4mile (stock H22A, good street tires).
i like that swap

ok fine, maybe a carbon fiber hood isn't gonna "solve" the problem but it should still help though. relocating the battery helps though since it's removing weight from the front to the back. But yea, gotta agree, h22 is all about DRAG racing, screw auto-x and all those poo poo. and mid 14's sounds ryte, i'm sure it can hit low 13's pretty easy w/ a few bolt on's and slick!

all you need to do to hit 13's is a little laughing gas and slicks, besides the i/h/e.
it's gonna haul a$$.

i'm glad to help but i won't be doing the swap for awhile. Gonna drop in the engine around june/july when i actually have time to rip apart the whole car. Gonna take off all the a/c lines, ps lines, cruise control, repaint the engine bay, clean every last inch of the motor, heat wrap all the parts, and swap out all the rubber lines for steel braided earl lines. gonna be phat when it's done! but that won't be til another 5 months or so. If your really interested in this swap keep in touch and we'll help each other out w/ this swap.

Instead of moving weight to the rear trying to induce oversteer, you can simply install a slightly larger diameter rear swaybar while keeping your stock front swaybar. It will help even out the slight understeer that the swap produces.

Like I said the swap doesn't throw the weight distribution off by a lot, so another way of countering it would be to install slightly stiffer springs in the rear as opposed to the front. Using both stiffer springs in the rear AND a very stiff rear swaybar might be too much and could possibly make it oversteer.

damn, i posted the same topic twice alreaddy and i never got this many resposes! haha. I'm dropping a h22a into my 95 integra ls like you are too. Out of all the mounts i still recommend the HASport to everyone out there. Also, does any1 know how the hell to get the shifter to work? a teg and a civic has a shift linkage rod thing but a accord and prelude has a cable type one. So how do the get the shifter to work? any1 out there happen to have the wiring diagrams for a h22? or better yet, a JDM h22? haha, too lazy to go buy and can't find any online.

Oh it's not in yet, i'm still in the process of waiting for my parts to arrive. I "should" have it up an running reliably in a month.
Out of the box i'm hoping for a high 13, mid 13's with suspension/engine tuning.
The next step after that is to add a standard T3 turbocharger and a '94 F22A 5spd, then it will become strictly a freeway car Tell me what ya'll think;
M2F4 (H22) Tranny / F22A Tranny
1st- 3.307........................1st- 3.307
2nd- 1.950........................2nd- 1.809
3rd- 1.360........................3rd- 1.230
4th- 1.071........................4th- .903
5th- .870........................5th- .705
Final- 4.266......................Final- 4.062

Imagine the gas mileage on the freeway!

You have to source a complete shift linkage assembly out of either a Prelude or an Accord, after that the only problem with installation is mounting the shifter assembly, I believe HASport now sells a template for mounting the shifter.
I also have complete wiring diagrams for OBD1 Preludes. Not 100% sure on the JDM/USDM differences as far as wiring but they should pretty much be the same.
If you have any questions, fire away, i'll try to help as much as possible.

Also, HASport mounts............ They got my approval. I mainly like the concept of how you can simply use '93 Integra axles with a '93 Accord halfshaft, so if I happen to snap one (which I will! ) all it'll take is a simple run to AdvanceAuto and "defect return"
